About the Client
Birmingham City Council’s central mailing facility provides mail and document solutions directly to an extensive client base within the public and private sector market. Shared Services operates a centralised mail processing facility within Birmingham, which has a team of highly skilled mailing specialists to deliver outstanding quality solutions to customers.
The Challenge
Taking a new approach to the changing mail market
Reduce costs while improving the way mail and document solutions are delivered to customers
Needed a web-based hybrid mail solution that could be deployed into any customers with little IT involvement
Birmingham City Council holds a DSA C9 licence with Royal Mail and wanted to improve the mailing services it provides to a number of public sector and local authorities

Deployed a web-to print solution that could cross handle communication channels and manage anything from a single letter to high-volume print mailings in a single platform
Installed four production printers and two high production mailers to manage demand
Rolled out print software to increase reliability and functionality of the printers
